Industry Expertise
Paul Rowe is a BRG director and head of the London office. He is an economist with 25
years of experience as an economic consultant, much of it as a partner
in the economic and financial consulting practices of major accounting
firms.
Mr. Rowe specializes in competition policy, including all types of UK and European competition cases. He has worked
extensively on market-wide investigation and anti-competitive
practice cases across a wide range of sectors. He has led teams
working on matters being investigated by, among others, the UK
competition authorities, the European Commission, industry regulators,
and UK courts/tribunals, including providing expert witness experience.
His sectoral experience includes retail, consumer products, financial
services, newspapers, broadcasting, telecoms, sports, pharmaceuticals,
professional services, real estate, transport, and the public sector.
As a competition economist, Mr. Rowe's has predominantly provided analyses and expert opinions in the context of competition
investigations and disputes. He spent over a year on secondment as an
economist at one of the UK’s competition authorities and has completed
additional consulting projects for such authorities both in the UK and
at the European Commission. His broader economic and financial
experience includes projects in the fields of economic regulation,
intellectual property, business cases for investment decisions,
business/financial modeling, and economic impact analysis regarding changes in
public policy/regulation/taxes.
